Budokan athletes selected for Junior World Championships 2010
For the first time in the club's history, we have 3 athletes selected for the one Junior (U/20) World Championship competition: Nathan Katz (U/55kg), Jake Young (U/60kg) and Shaun McDougall (U/90kg). Congratulations!! That is just fantastic!!

Shaun previously represented Australia at the 2009 Junior Worlds in Paris. This is a wonderful achievement for these 3 athletes and for the club and adds to the momentum of our 6 athletes (these 3 athletes plus Vanessa Hall, Hamish McDougall and Jessica Klajman, with reserve Patrick Waite) selected to the upcoming Oceania Championships. All 3 athletes are ranked #2 in their respective divisions for the Junior Worlds so funding if any, will be very limited, and might depend on winning Oceania.
The athletes will need to decide in the next 2 weeks whether they will accept the invitation. The club will do what it can to seek funding and sponsorship opportunities.
