Josh, Kyle and Cameron to Train in Europe and Compete in Junior European Cups.
Josh and Cameron will train at Camberley Judo Club in the UK and Kyle will train at Grosshadern Club in Munich Germany prior to competing in the trio of Junior European Cups in Paks, Hungary (15 – 16 July), Prague, Czech Republic (22 – 23 July) and Berlin, Germany (29 – 30 July), each followed by a training camp.

Logan was to train in Japan after the Nationals for 5 weeks but this has now been postponed due to his injury which also prevents him from competing in the Nationals. We wish him a speedy recovery.

As always, we wish all our athletes who are training and competing internationally over the next few months a positive experience in the development of their Judo and great success in their competitions. Congratulations for setting new challenges and new goals.

The JFA has also just released the new round of athlete categorisation under the Australia’s Winning Edge (AWE) program. The AWE program was developed in partnership with Australia's high performance network and provides the high performance sports sector with clear performance targets and a framework for collaboration from 2012-2022. It is managed by the JFA in collaboration with the AIS/ASC and allows for a structured hierarchy of funding for selected events. Budokan has currently 3 spots on AWE with Nathan and Josh Katz remaining on AWE and Kyle McIndoe now being categorised as well. This means that they will receive limited funding support for their scheduled international events. Well done guys.
