National Team Selection: OJU Championships (13-15 August)
We previously congratulated Nathan Katz (Cadets and Junior Men), Jake Young (Junior Men), Vanessa Hall (Junior Women), Shaun McDougall (Junior Men), Jessica Klajman (Cadets), and Hamish McDougall (Cadets) on their selection to the OJU Championships (13-15 August), and also Patrick Waite (Seniors) on being selected first Reserve. All have been preparing well with regular training at Budokan and extra training at other clubs, in particular State sessions alternating between Budokan and Uni NSW on Saturdays, and Uni NSW on Friday nights.
Nathan is now on Day 5 of the 8 day National Training Camp at the AIS. Sessions have been loaded with randori (up to 12 x 6 minutes) and he is coping well. A number of families have decided to join us in Canberra which should really make our guys feel at home and encourage them in the true Budokan spirit.
To our representatives - the competition will be upon us in just a few days and the club wishes you all a fantastic event where you showcase your abilities to your maximum potential. Enjoy the experience and fight with confidence and determination. We'll be with you all the way!
