Club Rebuild 16th March

The "Dojo" rebuild last night went very well despite the extra 25% mat area and sub-floor to put down. We managed to achieve all objectives set albeit the unavoidable disruption to the process whilst the frame was configured and the outer sub-floor boards located.
Tasks included:

* Move the Horticulture stuff (tables, railings and trestles) back into the cattle shed - DONE
* replace the plastic floor seal at the Olympic flag end of the hall - DONE
* move all the filing cabinets, book case, trophy cabinet, change room, all equipment etc back into the hall - DONE
* rebuild the change room - DONE
* locate and lay the mat frame - DONE
* set the corner fixtures and the frame angles - DONE
* clean and lay the border sub-floor panels repairing any rubber cubes along the way - DONE
* fix the border panels to the frame - DONE
* clean and lay the other sub-floor panels repairing any rubber cubes along the way - DONE
* locate the wood-backed mats along the Olympic flag end of hall - DONE
* lay the mats per the predetermined pattern - DONE
* Sweep/vacuum the mats - DONE
* locate the mat cover - DONE
* replace the 4 picture / notice boards - DONE
* relocate the trophy cabinet - DONE
* Plus: Ceiling fans cleaned, Olympic Flag replaced, speakers relocated, TV/Stereo back in cabinet, books/DVDs/Videos replaced, trophies replaced, electronic timer replaced, dinosaur shelf and dino replaced.

The turnup was great and at the risk of leaving someone out (let me know if I do), the club owes a great deal of gratitude to a bunch of people who assisted. It's great that the club's athletes pulled together again and we had 13 in all with Peter and Kevin Schmitz, Jake Young, Patrick and Rory Waite, Bryan Medbury, Vanessa Hall, Michael Stubley and Shimin Ou, plus Cadets Nathan Katz and Jessica Klajman plus Juniors Josh Katz and Cameron Leishman plus committee members Don McDougall and Karen Leake, plus parents Richard Lane, Marcel de Bruine, Danny Klajman, Sue and Craig Leishman, plus Bill (Aikido) and 5 of his able team plus Simon from BJJ, plus Coaches Kerrye, Rob, and Guido, so with 31 all up, the majority were able to leave by 10.00pm as planned. Thanks so much to all of you for taking the time to support this (again) unpleasant but essential activity. It's really great to see the Dojo start to take life again. We'd like to see some U/10s parents help with these activities as well so we can get to know you better and see how hard you can work!
